Britney Spears’ boyfriend, Sam Asghari, was involved in a fender-bender in Los Angeles Monday.
“Sam tapped the bumper of the car in front of his Jeep [Rubicon],” a source told Page Six. “No one was injured, and there was minimal to no damage to either car. The police only came to fill out a report documenting the accident, but Sam is not in any trouble.”
The source added, “Britney was not with him at the time.”
Asghari, 27, took to his Instagram Story Monday afternoon to address the accident.
“Literally hasn’t even been two weeks since i’ve had this baby and just got into a car accident,” he told his followers, before admitting he was at fault and confirming no one was injured.
“When situations like this happen guys, always think of it as if it’s preventing the bigger bad thing from happening,” he said. “Always think of the positive thing and just enjoy life. As long as you’re okay and the other person is okay, everything else is fine. You don’t need to ruin your day about it.”
TMZ reported the accident occurred near Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Meanwhile, Spears, 39, has been lashing out at those in her inner circle via social media following the most recent hearing in her battle against her conservatorship last week.
Friday night, she took to Instagram, writing, “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that !!!!”
Fan consensus in the comments held that Spears was referring to her younger, Jamie Lynn Spears, who remained conspicuously silent on Spears’ situation until recently, saying she believed her sister could speak for herself.
Adding credence to this theory was the elder Spears’ Sunday post, which captioned a clip of her dancing to Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” with “May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today.” The timing of the post was conspicuous: Jamie Lynn, 30, wrote earlier in the day, “May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit.”
