Writer Kelly Marcel of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” says she and Tom Hardy want to make the sequel a “insane bat ***” vehicle.
A new superhero movie that sees Tom Hardy replaying his role as Eddie Brock / Venom runs in less than two hours, and Kelly remembers how she and the actor wanted a quick watch from the beginning. I did.
Kelly told Discussing Film:
“At the end, I was out of breath as if I was on a roller coaster and thought it was the most crazy bat ride I’ve ever had. This movie is like freight. I don’t know if the longer you go, the longer you can maintain that ride. “
The scriptwriter added that it was important to add Woody Harrelson’s serial killer Cletus Kasady / Carnage to the blockbuster as soon as possible in order to keep the project fast paced.
Kelly said: “I also remember that we need to talk about what Eddie and Venom are now, and what the dynamics between them are, as well as bring Carnage into the film quite early on. You need to keep it, because it’s the person you come to see.
“I didn’t want to delay his arrival and lengthen the runtime in the movie, so I told the story with the number of pages I wanted to tell.”
She concluded that: “When you look at it, you really think this is the perfect time for something so energetic.”
