Leslie Grace will play “Bat Girl” in a new DC movie.
The 26-year-old star was tapped by the studio to play Barbara Gordon in a new project released on Streamer HBO Max.
The studio is reportedly keen to win Leslie following her protagonist in the musical movie “In the Heights,” and insiders say her audition has signed a deal.
The details of the plot in the new movie are obscured, but Gotham City Police Department member James Gordon’s daughter, Barbara Gordon, is behind the project’s mask.
Many characters have played superheroes in the world of “Batman,” but Gordon is the most famous, despite his comic debut as Betty Kane in 1961.
On the screen, Batgirl was played by Yvonne Craig in the 1960s television series, and Alicia Silverstone played the character in the 1997 movie “Batman & Robin,” but she was the butler Alfred Pennyworth in the project. It was Worth’s niece.
“Bad Boys for Life” filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilalfarer direct the film from a script written by Christina Hodson.
Walter Hamada, president of DC Films, suggested that the movie be released via a streaming service because “more dangerous characters” could mean that the movie is a box office flop. ..
He also explained that the studio is trying to create an HBOTV spin-off for all upcoming films to help explain projects that don’t share continuity with other films.
Hamada said, “In every movie I’m watching, I’m thinking,’What’s the potential for Max’s spin-off?’ I don’t think anyone else has tried this, but the audience has it. Sophisticated enough to understand. If we make a good movie, they will agree with it. “
