Lord released her next single, “Stoned at the Nail Salon”.
New Zealand pop star will drop a second single from her long-awaited album “Solar Power” on Wednesday (21.07.21).
The “Green Light” hit maker has already released a title track and recently teased that LP is a “Buzzy Mix” of S Club, TLC and Fleetwood Mac.
The 24-year-old singer described the follow-up 2017 “melodrama” as a blend of folk and “bubblegum pop,” and she is “very proud” of the collection.
She said: “I really think it’s a very good record.
“I’m so proud of it that I want to get there. The sound is like a 60’s / 70’s folk with bubblegum pop in the early 2000s.
“It’s a little S-Club, a little TLC and mixed with your classic Fleetwood Mac. It’s a pretty lively mix.”
The hit maker of “Royals” also contributed to the impressive cover of the album. This cover was taken from the ground and shows the singer jumping with the bottom of the camera facing up.
She added: “It was my ass and people were told that they might feel the way about it.
“But the photos were so much fun, playful and free. I feel that such sexyness was barely calculated by me. That’s how I jumped over the camera and looked very happy. I thought.
“But it was strange to think,’This person looks at my ass, this person looks at my ass, this person looks at my ass.’ I think you had to save it while you got it. “
And Lord admitted that he felt “symbolic” to her, as he suggested that the artwork could be part of someone’s record collection over the years to come.
She explained: “I didn’t even know if I thought it was going to be this hot. I just thought it was a very cool and tough photo.
“I was like,’I feel this is symbolic to me.’ I can imagine owning vinyl and loving it for 25 years.
“It was my mood. I think you have to save it while you have it [and] Save it for prosperity. “
