Before everybody knew who he was, Marshall Thompson sneaked into the Regal Theater in Chicago and was thrown again and again.

“And one day, when her drummer didn’t show up, Gladys Knight asked me to play the drums for her,” Thompson remembers. “I couldn’t believe it, but I was there!”
