Rose Byrne is to star in “They Are Us”.
The Australian actress will play New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern within the subsequent movie. The movie tells the story of the week after two shootings at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, killed 51 individuals in 2019.
Andrew Niccol will write and direct the movie produced by Ayman Jamal, Stewart Till, Nicole and Philippa Campbell.
We consulted with a number of members of the mosque affected by the assault concerning the script.
Nicole instructed the deadline: “‘They are us’ is not about the attack, but about the response to the attack. [and] How the unprecedented act of hatred was overcome by the overflow of love and support.
“This movie deals with our common humanity, so I think we’ll talk to people all over the world. This is an example of how to respond when a fellow human being is attacked.”
Ardern has been broadly praised for a way he dealt with the response to the assault, and the film title is taken from her post-shooting speech.
However, a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office instructed The New Zealand Herald that Ardern and her authorities weren’t concerned within the movie.
And the Muslim Society of Canterbury is questioning whether or not the movie is “right now.”
Spokesperson Abdigani Ali mentioned, “We deserve to be allowed to respond to the Prime Minister’s attack, but we are skeptical about the timing and whether the movie is right now.”
